On 14th October 2017 we hosted our first Chloe’s Butterfly Ball at Botley Park Hotel, Southampton, U.K.  Over 200 people attended and feedback following the event was that everyone had a fantastic evening!

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to tell so many people about our beautiful Chloe, as well as raise awareness of SUDC and share the work of the SUDC Foundation as well as tell people about the U.K. branch of the charity that is due to be launched imminently. I was able to share information about current research studies and explain the importance of increasing funding and awareness in order to try and prevent SUDC in the future. It was an honour to share Chloe’s story at what turned out to be a truly wonderful evening. Seeing everyone dressed up in all their finery, enjoying good food, drink and dancing, watching an amazing Irish Dance performance, as well as a totally mind blowing Magician going from table to table leaving everyone stunned made for a magical night. Having some fantastic Auction lots and raffle prizes donated by local businesses also helped to make the evening such a success, raising approximately £10,000 to benefit SUDC UK!

I’m so proud to be able to say Chloe is my daughter, and to be able to share her story as well as feel that I am making even just a very small difference to raising awareness of this tragedy in the hope that it will be a thing of the past. We look forward to hosting another Chloe’s Butterfly Ball in 2018!

With great appreciation,

Lucy Godding
