Welcome to the SUDC Foundation

We extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family and hope our services and support will provide guidance and comfort.



The SUDC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness, funding research, and supporting families affected by Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).



All services provided by the SUDC Foundation are offered to families at no cost. Our team is here to help you navigate the information, resources, support, and research opportunities that may be helpful to you and your family. You are always free to decide which services you would like to receive, and you may choose to begin, continue, or discontinue any service at any time.



By receiving services from the SUDC Foundation, you become a registered member of the SUDC Community, a community built on compassion, mutual respect, integrity, accurate and evidence-based information, and a shared commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for families.



We ask all members who choose to participate in the SUDC Community to respect these principles in their interactions with one another.

Mighty Networks

Mighty Networks is a platform where you can receive updates about upcoming events and supports, as well as connect with other family members affected by SUDC. Upon submission of this enrollment form, you will receive an email invitation to join Mighty Networks.

Support Groups

Peer Support

The Peer Connections Program connects individuals who have experienced the sudden unexplained death of a child with trained Peer Connection Volunteers. These volunteers have navigated their own grief journeys and provide support through shared lived experience. While not a replacement for professional counseling, the program offers meaningful connection, understanding, and validation during a profoundly difficult time.



Please note: The Peer Connections Program is currently undergoing a comprehensive review and enhancement process to strengthen volunteer training, matching practices, and overall program effectiveness. As a result, there may be a delay in being matched with a Peer Connection Volunteer. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the program provides the highest level of support for bereaved families.



If interested in being connected with a volunteer, we still encourage families to submit a Peer Connection request, and our team will follow up as soon as possible. If you would like to discuss other available resources while awaiting a match, please contact Danielle Cristofano-Schwartz, LCSW, the Director of Family Services, as we are committed to helping you find meaningful support and connection during this time.

Foundation's Family Services (Last modified August 2026):

    Participants in the SUDC Foundation's Family Services programming are expected to be kind and collaborative. All members must adhere to the guidelines outlined below. Failure to do so may result in removal from the services.
  • Participation in personal advocacy initiatives, media interviews, public speaking engagements, or other awareness activities is entirely voluntary. However, only authorized SUDC Foundation Ambassadors and representatives may speak on behalf of, represent, or imply representation of the SUDC Foundation. Individuals interested in representing the Foundation should apply to the SUDC Foundation's Ambassador Program. The program provides education on the Foundation's mission, vision, programs, and messaging, ensuring ambassadors are prepared to communicate accurate, consistent information while serving as representatives of the Foundation.
  • Privacy is important, and personal information should not be shared with anyone outside the service for which it is intended to be used. The SUDC Foundation may share information with appropriate agencies if an individual reveals that they want to harm themself or someone else.
  • The SUDC Foundation reserves the right to refuse services or to amend the guidelines as needed. This consent form is not a binding contract for services.
  • Participants can contact the SUDC Foundation by phone at 800-620-SUDC or email support@sudc.org with any issues, concerns, or new service ideas.

Guidelines for Facebook and the SUDC Foundation Network:

The online community is moderated by SUDC Foundation staff.

  • Members cannot block any SUDC Foundation staff on social media platforms.


  • Posts and comments may be removed without prior notice at the discretion of the SUDC Foundation's moderators and administrators when necessary to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all members. If you believe your post or comment was removed in error, please contact a moderator so we can discuss your concerns.


  • Our support groups are closed and confidential. Members are expected to respect the privacy of others by not sharing personal stories or identifying information outside the group. To protect the integrity and safety of our meetings, Zoom links are intended only for registered participants and may not be shared with others.
  • Members should exercise caution with their private information and not use any contact information shared in the group without expressed permission.


  • If you have concerns about another member or a post, please contact an administrator or moderator directly so we can review the situation. We ask that members refrain from blocking or reporting one another within the community whenever possible, allowing us the opportunity to address concerns fairly and thoughtfully.


  • Positive communication is always expected in online groups. This includes refraining from bullying, inappropriate behavior, offensive language, personal attacks, and discriminatory language. Additionally, remember that group discussions involve many people, so be mindful of not dominating the conversation and be respectful of the fact that silence does not necessarily indicate agreement.


  • The Foundation espouses beliefs that are inclusive, positive, and safe to the greater SUDC Foundation community. Please be respectful if others may share differing views.
  • Members should preface any helpful articles or resources they share with a message post.


  • The groups cannot be used for advertising or soliciting.
  • Please refrain from sharing private medical information or details related to your child's death investigation as it may be distressing or triggering for others.


  • If you have questions about research, genetics, DNA banking, postmortem genetic testing, or other medical concerns, please contact the SUDC Foundation team at support@sudc.org. Our team is available to provide personalized guidance and support based on your family's unique needs.
