The long-term effects of grief can have a cumulative impact on an individual’s well-being, affecting their mental, emotional, and physical health. Our interactive and experiential 6-week workshop is designed to offer participants a safe and supportive environment to connect, share, and learn effective coping skills. Offered free of charge to any registered SUDC Foundation family member(s) that are greater than one (1) year out from their loss, this workshop will guide you through your grief journey with compassion and understanding.
Participant One had to say: “..this has been the/one of the most beneficial events I’ve attended through the SUDC Foundation. I learned practical strategies for moving forward in grief and connected with other parents.”
Participant Two mentioned, “It was helpful to be guided through exercises and have feedback, while being validated and connecting with others.”
Participant Three loved that the workshop was: “(An opportunity) to share our stories and how to cope.”
“Better able to communicate with others about my grief .”
“I felt the workbook was helpful for me to support myself and others going forward.”
“Challenged myself in new situations that I would typically avoid based on context from the workshop.”
“I took a lot from this workshop to put to use. “
“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again, but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”
- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Pioneer in the study of grief
