Pathways to Healing: Grief Coping Skills Workshop

A supportive space to learn coping tools, connect with others, and feel understood as you navigate life after loss.

About the Workshop:

The long-term effects of grief can have a cumulative impact on an individual’s well-being, affecting their mental, emotional, and physical health. Our interactive and experiential 6-week workshop is designed to offer participants a safe and supportive environment to connect, share, and learn effective coping skills. Offered free of charge to any registered SUDC Foundation family member(s) that are greater than one (1) year out from their loss, this workshop will guide you through your grief journey with compassion and understanding.  

Workshop Details:

  • Duration: 6 Weeks, 1.5/hours sessions
  • Format: All sessions will take place on the SUDCF Network with live sessions held via Zoom. 
  • Attendance Requirements: Participants must attend all 6 live sessions. 
  • Eligibility: Open to SUDC Foundation family members who are more than 1 year out from their loss. 
  • Cost: Free of charge.

 

Workshop Goals:

  • Increase Understanding of Grief and Loss: Gain insights into the multifaceted nature of grief and how it affects different aspects of life. 
  • Identify and Correct Irrational Thinking Patterns: Learn to recognize and address irrational thoughts that may arise from past grief and loss experiences. 
  • Develop Coping Strategies for Uncomfortable Emotions: Equip yourself with practical techniques to manage and cope with the intense emotions that grief can bring. 
  • Foster Connection and Support among SUDC Families: Build a sense of community and support by sharing your experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. 
  • Explore Techniques for Navigating Family Dynamics: Discover effective methods for setting boundaries, managing avoidance behaviors, and improving interpersonal communication during the grief journey.
