Host an Event

Hosting an event on behalf of the SUDC Foundation in remembrance of an SUDC child is meaningful way to raise awareness of SUDC and funds to support foundation program initiatives. SUDC Foundation staff have created a variety of planning guides and have several event planning resources available, including administrative assistance to help event hosts along the way.
If you are interested in hosting an event, or simply want to learn more, please contact us today! We respectfully request event planners to obtain proper permissions prior to downloading and using the SUDC Foundation logo.

SUDC Foundation Events

SUDC family hosted events are charitable events organized by families or friends in memory of a beloved child on behalf of The SUDC Foundation. The purpose of these events is to create awareness around SUDC and raise funds which directly support the Foundation.

The SUDC Foundation provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, resource kits and other administrative services to assist families when organizing an SUDC family hosted event. The SUDC Foundation is grateful for the many families and friends who choose to host an event on behalf of the Foundation.

Community Events

We have many supporters who simply want to raise awareness and funds in memory of a beloved child by hosting their own community fundraiser to benefit the SUDC Foundation. These types of events range from a children’s activity day to a 5K challenge race.

Regardless of the size of your audience, we are here to help you get started. Discuss your idea with us and we will provide you with the tools to be successful, including an event page on your child’s SUDC Foundation memorial website.

We are thankful for the many families whose memorial foundation mission includes raising funds to support the SUDC Foundation. To date, SUDC receives no public funding. Generous grants from foundations not only improve our ability to provide critical care to bereaved families in the traumatic aftermath of the death of a child, but it allows us to pursue groundbreaking research into the underlying causes of SUDC which can lead to its ultimate prevention.

Virtual Challenge Events

Virtual challenge events are a great fundraising tool. They are flexible in design and easy to plan and execute because they are not as logistically complex as in-person events. In addition, other than the cost of an online registration platform and prizes, there are very few expenses, which make these types of events the perfect fundraising option all year round.

A virtual event is hosted online. Participants can join remotely from wherever they are, instead of gathering in person. These types of events are most often organized around a fitness goal or group activity and, just like a live event, are hosted to raise funds for a charity in remembrance of a special person or to recognize a significant date. Anyone of any ability can participate at their own pace. It can be completed at any location in the period set forth by the event organizers.

The SUDC Foundation can help you successfully plan and execute a virtual event. Click here to access our virtual event planning guide. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in hosting a virtual event so we can assist you in the planning process and provide additional resources to help ensure your success.

Our efforts to raise awareness wouldn't be possible without the inspiration and enthusiasm of the SUDC community.
