In Loving Memory of

Melinda Janet Wichern

Melinda's Story

Melinda Wichern was born on May 7, 2014. She was a smiley and happy baby who never met a stranger she couldn’t win over with her beautiful and ever present smile. She loved all things Sesame Street, Peg + Cat, Curious George and the Backyardigans. She loved to dance and sing, and of course playing with her cousins Alyssa and Zack in Grandma’s sandbox. She loved to dump that sand right on the floor and look at us with that mischievous grin while doing it. Her teachers at the YMCA always remarked what a happy and mellow baby she was. Melinda lit up a room and brought us all such joy and happiness.

We are so grateful for the 19 months that we were blessed with Melinda here with us on this Earth. She was taken from us far too soon on December 16, 2015 for reasons unknown to us (later diagnosed as SUDC), and we miss her so very much each and every day. She made Jason and I better people by making us parents, showing us what unconditional love truly is.

We love you and miss you more than words can express and know that your spirit has touched more people than you’ll ever know.

Melinda

You were such a joyful baby girl.
You’ve touched more people than you’ll ever know in this world.
Your Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.
Now that you’re gone, we don’t know what to do.
We miss you so much, and think of you every day.
The way you smiled, laughed, talked and played.
We’ll miss you forever, our sweet angel above.
Mommy and Daddy forever send you our love.
Please know that we’re always thinking of when,
the sweet day comes that we will see you again.
Until then, our sweet Melinda, we’ll talk every day.
And we’ll dream sweet dreams, just watching you play.
