Blogs: Providing Hope, Inspiration & Awareness for SUDC

Throughout SUDC Awareness Month 2019, we have seen many ways that committed individuals educate and make visible the public health issues of SUDC. The launch of our Foundation blog, SUDC Insights, this month, in fact, has been inspired by the eloquent words of those touched by SUDC who have used blogging as a window into their grief, hope and survival. Sharing their experiences with such eloquence, vulnerability and honesty educates the reader in profound ways.

As Kendra Sibley explained, “Bereaved parent blogs, including some SUDC parent blogs, were such important lifelines for me in the first year after Magnolia’s loss. It was so reassuring to know that other people were feeling the same things I was. It was also important for me to see that later on their grief had changed and wasn’t so desperate.”

Therefore, for this final week of SUDC Awareness Month, where our theme is sharing “why SUDC awareness is important to you”, we wanted to honor some of the SUDC bloggers that have provided such inspiration, hope and awareness for SUDC for so many.

Thank you to Eden, Bernadette, Beth, Andrew, Kendra and Anna for sharing yourselves and by doing so, create a light for others.  (If you know of others, please add to the comments section below.) Thank you!
