08 Mar Welcome to SUDC Insights!
March is a busy month at the SUDC Foundation – honoring SUDC Awareness Month and launching SUDC Insights, the new blog of the SUDC Foundation! SUDC Insights will provide an outlet to provide in-depth and more current, accurate information on SUDC and the work of the SUDC Foundation. We will provide “insight” into promoting awareness, advocating for research, supporting those affected and striving for a world free of SUDC.
If you have questions or something you’d like “insight” into, please contact us at [email protected].
Marching Forward with SUDC Awareness!
March is SUDC Awareness Month and the SUDC Foundation is once again leading efforts to raise awareness of SUDC around the world.
Each week the SUDC Foundation’s social media platforms will feature efforts for the week, so please be sure to “like” and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date! And please comment on our posts with your pictures and stories, and share our posts including #SUDCAwareness!
The month started when we asked our SUDC community to “Frame” themselves for SUDC by changing their Facebook profile pictures to include the SUDC Awareness Month frame. If you haven’t done so already, its not too late! You can find step-by-step instructions here.
As Week 1 (March 3-9), “Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve” Week is wraps up, SUDC supporters all over the world have been posting pictures of themselves wearing their favorite SUDC Foundation or other memorial T-shirt, pin, hat, jewelry or any other memorabilia to honor children gone too soon.
Here’s the line-up for the rest of the month:
- Week 2: March 10-16: Raising Awareness One Person at a Time Week
- Week 3: March 17-23: Random Acts of Kindness Week
- Week 4: March 24-30: Why is SUDC Awareness Important to You Week
Once again, we have asked each U.S. State to proclaim March as SUDC Awareness Month. Last year, 43 U.S. States joined us. To date, 28 U.S. States have joined us!
Canadian residents can support a proposal that would create a new 12-week bereavement leave for parents dealing with the death of a child by signing this petition here.
